About Mrs. London

This is my second year at Literacy First Charter School, and the beginning of my 18th year of teaching. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a young child. In fact, it was my 3rd grade teacher who inspired me to want to teach and I turned our basement into my classroom with my dolls and stuffed animals being my first students.

I attended Los Angeles Baptist College (now The Master's College) in Newhall, California. I received a degree in Liberal Studies and then earned my Clear Elementary Teaching Credential there as well. I also hold a CLAD credential. I taught for two years in the Newhall School District and 3 years in the Evergreen School District in San Jose before starting a family.  After the birth of our first daughter I was a  part time G.A.T.E. teacher. In 1994 our family made a major move to Boston, Massachusetts and I decided to take time off to stay home with my children. I was blessed to be a full time mom for 12 years. In 2001 we transitioned again back to California and settled in the Sacramento area. In 2006 I returned to the classroom and taught in the Folsom-Cordova Unified School District. In 2012 we made one more move to the San Diego area.  The last four years I taught at a local, private school where my youngest daughter and I were able to be together. She is off to colloge now and I was excited to discover the world of Literacy First Charter School and feel privileged to be part of this incredible school system.

My family has been my world and now that my children are grown, I am so thankful that I get to work with children everyday and help each of them discover and grow in their educational pursuits.

I love to spend time with my family hiking in the mountains, spending time at the beach, cooking, and most of all reading. I strive to be a life-long learner and enjoy sharing this passion with my students.
